Paolo Volonté holds PhDs in Sociology (Milan, 2003) and Philosophy (Freiburg i.Br., 1997). He teaches Sociology of Fashion and Theories of Innovation and coordinates META, the research unit for humanities and social studies on science and technology. Co-founder and former president of STS Italia, he sits on the advisory boards of ModaCult and Tecnoscienza. He is also co-founder and co-editor of the International Journal of Fashion Studies. His research interests include cultural sociology, fashion studies, design sociology, and science and technology studies (STS).
